I know that this is a little off topic, but have you guys seen the STS turbo systems setup, the turbo is 10 FEET from the engine mounted at the back of the car, NOW!! that is really different, they say it makes HORSEPOWER! I still think we havent reached the the end of the tunnel. lots more ideas out there. come on lets get creative

make sure you get the position right
before making any permanent welds
taking into account Down Pipe size
closeness to engine and strut tower etc

so far I like the length of the runners

Looking really good 13B-RX3. Keep it up. After you're done, you will know why good manifolds are worth $800+, and it is worth every penny.

So, what did you decide on to make the runner length out to be?

I'm about to start mine fab'n my manifold in a week for my GT42 too.

You will find that alot of times you will get right around 16" it looks like it turned out almost exactly like I pictured it would.

I should have never doubted you Sean.

It is 2 1/8" OD 2" ID .065 321 stainless. I had to go to great lengths to get exactly what i wanted. By the time i bought 20' and had it all bent i had $1350 in it. I am fortunate that one of my freinds was also needing to build a header for a 20B so we split it. So i have $675 in my half. Still cheaper than having one made.

I'll get right on that Stephen

Looks almost like Laguna Seca Blue...

It is a Mustang color called Azure Blue. I am still thinking about buying another Tial 44mm and use 2 W/Gs but i still don't know.

I went to the machine shop yesterday and had him make some sleeves for the header flange to reduce it from 2 1/5 to 2 1/8. When i got there today he proceeded to cuss me up one side and down the other. Apparently the stock i brought him was tool steel. He still managed to cut them out but he charged me $80. Oh well live and learn.

Tacked it all together today. Going to take it to work Monday and have it all welded up. Then it's on to the wastegate.

Beautiful!

If you don't mind me asking, but how did you form the "D" shape out the tubing for the t6 flange?

So still going with dual wastegates?

I was wondering, if it was a 20B, tripple wastegate?

I squished the tube into an oval shape in a vise. Then i tacked it to the flange and used an air hammer and rounded chisel to form it into shape.

It is probably cheaper land ess time consuming if Sean have made one for you, but the price of making it and completing it yourself with pride is priceless

Got some welding done on it this week. They let the new guy practice on it so it is a little rough. Now for the wastegate(s).

I couldn't agree more. If you can do it you should. It is a pride thing when you pop the hood. That said I couldn't have done it without his car here. It looks good.
