turbo city horror story
turbo city horror story
Ok me and my friend ordered the FC hatachi turbo upgrade, he was on a budget so this was his only option, it cost $780. The kit comes with a new cartridge new compressior wheel and and housing. I begged him to just pay the extra and through a t60 on it. So he bought the turbo sity upgrade instead agienst my wishes. We got the turbo in after a month because it was on back order. We installed it promtly to see what a difference it made we slowly broke in the turbo like they said. It pulled hard as hell, was more laggy but I like laggy turbos it makes street driving easyer. it smoked like a bat at ah hell after boosting though so we sent it back. They said everything was within spec put a "new" kit in and sent it back to us. we put it in and the same thing. So we put it in my car just to verify it was the turbo and it smoked the same way. They are being *** holes about it like it is are fault. what if we had a shop do it who's paying for the laber here??? just a little tip stay away from turbo city if you didn't already know.
Most likely the stock oil pipes allow too much oil pressure to the bearings and this either destroys them or allows too much oil to leak through.
This also happened with a friends FD big turbo kit. M2 also had this problem with their FD ball bearing turbo upgrade when it first came out.
It appears that some of these companies do not research or know about rotary oiling systems and how much pressure they run.
I restrictor pill/jet is needed in the supply side oil line.
