Turbine Replacement Options for BW S300SX
Hi all! I recently had a piece of exhaust sleeve chip off and damage the turbine on my S300SX-60. Long story short, my old engine had ridiculous exhaust ports a previous owner did that were too wide for the stock exhaust sleeves, so I had the bright idea of widening the sleeves and welding in some steel to cover the gaps. Lesson learned. It broke off and killed the entire engine.
Anyways, I just got this turbo from Banzai Racing last year, so I asked them if they had any suggestions for replacing the wheel. I got a prompt response from Chris saying unfortunately they don't sell replacement parts and that I should contact BW themselves. He also mentioned that it may be just as costly to rebuild as it is to buy another turbo. I suppose I could see that if I were to send it in to have a rebuild done, but I really just want to replace the turbine myself under the assumption that each individual part is balanced.
I can find Garrett parts everywhere, and I even have a bunch of Garrett parts laying around. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with BW turbos. I can't find an online seller with genuine BW turbines.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Any leads on where to get a replacement turbine? It's the weekend, so I doubt I'll get a response from BW anytime soon.
Thanks,
James

They may have what you are looking for, I have never dealt with them, but I know they offer turbo rebuilds. With that said, Chris opinion is probably correct, you may be better of replacing it with a newer BW SXe lineup in cost effective terms.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not able to afford a turbo like that just yet. Good luck with the sale though. I saw the thread, it's a real beauty!
KNONFS, I am leaning more toward upgrading to an S362SX-E. It's only a few dollars more than the SX I have, and the supercore will just drop into my current turbine housing.
I'll give it a day or two to see if BW will reply to my email. In the meantime I'll put the SX-E in my cart
