Tuning time
Well its come time to finally tune my car. My question is should I go with all HKS Super Fire 10.5. Or should I go with stock 9s up top and the HKS 10.5 on the bottom. I want to tune for 18-20 psi. I want to see at least 450rwhp. Any input would be very much appreciated.
Mods are :
Race ported 3mm motor
850cc primary
1680cc secondary
Aeromotive FPR set at 43 psi
Rx7.com Compitition Fuel pump (new version)
Jacobs FC1000 with T2 leading coil
Magnacore 10mm wires
Apexi PFC

not for 450whp, you should at least go with a 9L/10T setup. A lot run 10's all around daily with less than that HP and boost level. IMO 9's would be asking for detonation at 20psi and 450whp.
I just put in BR9EIX/BR10EIX's in mine, shooting for same HP number around 17/18psi. Cheap iridium plugs with good results (gap to .030), especially up high in the RPM's under high boost. $7 each from Advanced Auto Parts.
Oh yeah, only issue is you'll need to grind down a spark plug socket in order to install these. Search the plug number and you can read about it all.

Thanks guys. So I should run BR9EIX high and BR10EIX down low? I'm running a T04r, are the BR10EIX plugs gonna be cold enough? I figured I would need to go with at least 10.5 heat range. I'm shooting for 450-475 rwhp.

I'd probably go with 9/10 setup, or try all 10's and if they foul then go to 9/10s. The plugs are cheap so you can afford to try to all 10 setup first. Also fi you buy at Advanced they warranty the plugs for 2 years so if the 10's foul you can technically return them for the 9's.

Stay away from the HK$ plugs. I have heard stories of the electrode coming off and grenading the motor. Stick with NGKs, Greddys, or the motorcycle plugs referenced above.

i havent had any issues with my HKS ones so far.. (cross fingers) you should be fine with 9'1 and 10's but all tens youll be fine with as well.. if your going to run them on the street just keep the revs up when you fire it up in the morn and warm them up before you get going so you dont foul them.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm gonna go ahead and run all BR10EIX. I hope they are cold enough and hold up to the heat they are gonna see. Thanks...!!
