I was making some wastegate runners yesterday and needed to join one piece of pipe to another at an angle. Lacking a tubing notcher normally I would do the grind and fit thing until the notch was done. Figuring that someone must have templates on the Internet for various tube/pipe joining scenarios I did some searching and found an excellent little program called Tubmiter. Tubmiter lets you input the diameter of the pipe/tube, the wall thickness, the diameter of the tube/pipe you are joining to and the angle of the joint. It then spits out a paper template you can print and wrap around you tube/pipe to mark your cut. Using this software anyone with almost any type of grinding tool can make close-fitting miters on almost any size of tube.
