Question TS04, good turbo ?

hey guys, as you can see I am new to the rotary community here at rx-7 club.com, but not to the racing scene. I usually roam supraforums and I-supra.com but have now moved to this site as well as other sites to further my knowledge in the import scene. I have a friend w/ an FD. It now has a FMIC, intake, exhaust, boost controller and turbo timer. He is looking to go single, specifically TS04. my question is this. What can the TS04 get him as far as performance goes? I guess what I am trying to find out is what are the specs of this turbo and where can I search for info on this turbo? I have already done a search on here and got no where.
thanks for all the help!

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but a TS04 is not the same thing as a T04S right?

Wargasm, they are the same thing. As far as the turbo goes, the TS04 or T04s is a very nice one. Depending on how you build it you can make a killer drag car or road race car.

They are not the same thing. The TS04 is the smallest turbonetics T series turbo, the TO4S is the XS and HKS name for a 60-1. 60-1 is a 60 series, not a T series. I thought the same thing but found out later they are not the same. The TS04 cost about 400 bucks more than a 60-1. I personally don't see the point to the TS04, I'd either save the money and get the 60-1 or for the same price as the TS04 you can get a T61 or T66.

What kind of power are you making? I have a T04s that I'm installing soon. I've seen numbers anywhere from 393@14psi to 508@21psi.

Anyone else care to comment on this?

my project is pending... money is tight right now. any one want an Aem computer???? Wheels?.... the ts04 suppors 650 HP acording to turbonetics a 60-1 hi fi a 550-575 range and a 62-1 a 600 range. and you can get those that look like the t-series turbos because they have a t4 exhaust housing so they can be confused. but are not the same.

there's s bunch to choose from. The most popular seems to be supraforums.com, but it runs slow because its always busy and has many trolls. Now I go to i-supra.com

Garrett calls them T04S04.&nbsp I've heard "T04S" and "TS04" - they all are basically the same thing.&nbsp These things can boost very high.&nbsp They can make 400hp to the wheels pretty easily on a 13B - 500hp if you start to crank up the boost.
