And before somebody wants to say it, yes I know it's just a BB T04R.

It looks nothing like the HKS T04Z. On the website, it does not mention if it's ball bearing or not. Strange.

Actually Chuck, read again, it does say it is BB. It is 2400.00AU, so about the same as a GT40R price wise shipped. I emailed them for specs on the wheels. If it has the GTQ wheel, it would be about the same spec as CARX7s turbo.

My Email;

I am interested in a split pulse .84 T4 TO4Z. Can you tell me the exact wheel sizes inducer, and exducer? Also, does this utilize the Garrett GTQ wheel? I assume water cooled? Rebuildable with off the shelf Garrett parts? Many folks interested here in the states. Please send me a list of available ARs in a T4 both divided, and not. Cheers, Carl Byck 707-696-2705

your favorite I have contemplated an "Inconnel screen" for the hotside of my turbo, not sure if it would stop a seal though. Sorry about your turbo my friend...

Even if you could get it to survive the heat, screens offer a deceptively large amount of blockage. The Pegasus Auto Racing catalog (that I was casually reading when I came to this realization) has some SS mesh for protecting radiators, etc. and I was really surprised at how much blockage there was. I don't remember the exact specs on the % blocked area, but it was significant -- greater than 30%, and worst when the mesh is tight. It would be nice to have some turbo protection, but I can't think of any safe way to do it that wouldn't completely choke the exahust. Maybe a super-powered electro-magnet...

Yea, just a dream. Alot of heat(read energy) gets blocked as well. Think of a fireplace screen. Carl

Yea your right, this is definately not the HKS version of the T04Z. The HKS T04Z has a special type of ported shroud in the compressor housing that supposedly makes spool time more efficient but from numerous tests ive seen, it doesnt really help too much. I would like to see the differences between this Garrett T04Z and the HKS T04Z. Im sure its just different A/R sizes and maybe a special cutback hotside wheel like most HKS counterpart turbos have. Cool turbo nonetheless.

It does not have the anti surge cover, it does have the bullet nut(who cares). All the results I've seen on a turbo this size resulted in 300-400 slower spool vs the standard cover

It’s in Australian dollars. I’m not sure if I did the conversion right, but I got $1775 US dollars.
