TO4S Dyno and Pics

I finally got my single setup and tuned after the first motor blew due to bad tuning. It dynoed at 432rwhp @ 15lbs, which is better than the orininal setup @ 17lbs. Jason from the RX7 Store did the tuning on the new motor and I am quite pleased. The power also comes on much earlier. Here are some pics and the two dyno sheets. You can see that there was a huge dip in power on the old dyno sheet at around 5K, which is actually where my engine blew after it was off the dyno and we were street tuning. I am not sure why the original tuner didn't pick up on this, but after reviewing both sheets, it seems a little suspect. Anyways, I just need some bigger tires to handle the power(am I the only one with a single turbo and stock rims?)

The turbo is a TO4S from XS. Thanks to Zavier for the nice clean install and all the help.

Hot side is 1.0 I think. The port is a Pineapple large racing port.

Here's the old dyno. This was at 17lbs.

Sweet ride and tuning setup man. What kind of timing maps are you running? Agressive, safe, etc.
Up in the 15psi range.

What's up with the mustang dyno? How can I get dynojet-like numbers out of that?

We have had to calibrate the weight of the rollers to get it to read dynojet numbers.

Jason, So you're saying that those numbers should be very close to what he would put down on a Dynojet?

Thanks! Brian

Ryan,
Nice numbers! Good to see you're back up and running again.... and no you're not the only one with a single on stock rims, but that will change this winter, at least for me.

Radkins... GOOD numbers... they match very well against my T04S

http://www.catenet.net/graph.php?car...1&SUBMIT=GRAPH

Main dyno page here -

http://www.catenet.net/dyno.php

You can see from my graph that my timing is too retarded

Can you send me your *.dat file from your powerfc so that I can compare your timing to mine?

Thanks ever so much!!!!

Wow, nice! I feel bad for that T04R guy.

So the MD does calculations to DynoJet numbers now? The MD usually produces power numbers 5% to 8% lower than the DynoJet runs. If this is the case, that run would come really close to 450 on a DynoJet!

We did some testing and ours was 18% lower than a dynojet. It varies between dynos.
We used a couple of cars to calibrate the numbers by changing the weight of the rollers on our dyno.

We can do 1/4 mile pulls on the dyno. I will try that next time.

That's pretty sweet. Have you calibrated it with a real 1/4 mile drag strip close to the dyno. To me that would be the ultimate test of calibration. Just take the average trap speeds of the two, and if they are somewhat close the dyno should be right on the money to real life power, since we all know Dyno numbers can be whatever we want them to be.

We have done only a couple 1/4 mile pulls on it, but as I remember it was close to what the car was dynoing. I will try that the next time my car is on the dyno. Running the 1/4 mile on the dyno is supposed to be accurate to the .1 of actually running it at the track. Kinda scary launching the car on the dyno

LMAO Yeah, I can see that now. Rolling out of hole and not going anywhere. LOL.... That would be an interesting experience. That or thinking "I did get the high quality fasteners to the floor right?" LOL....
I'd be interested in seeing the timing map for those numbers. 432@15psi on a race port is nice.
My guess would be close to 490@20psi. Plenty for the street.
Actually puts that setup close to Jason's T78 if i remember correctly. Something like 509@19ish psi.
good numbers guys.
