Time to upgrade fuel system

Alright everyone, i am planning on eventually going single turbo, and i need a fuel system that will be able to handle a single setup, How do i go about upgrading this system, i have Power FC also btw. Also i was wondering about how many hours of labor is it to have a mechanic install these mods?

fuel mods are easy, you need to upgrade fuel rails because your getting larger fuel injectors (1680cc)x2 for seccondaries. That's a snap just like changing your fuel pump into an aeromotive one "1000hp", it's a good idea to change your fuel filter too, stock one is good, but aeromotive one is best. Then you need a fuel pressure regulator, and a whole bunch of SS and -AN *****.

that's prolly about it. Don't waste your time on a mechanic, fuel system is easy. (trust me, i'm only 17 re-did my whole fuel system on my FCt2)

on another note, should take about 1-2 hours to swap all these parts out for my turboII.

Is all this stuff fine for my FD, cuz you say it is good for your FC turbo? Also what is SS and AN ****?

Anybody have a list of ALL the parts that will need to be upgraded for my FD, to handle a single turbo upgrade?

ss = stainless steel (fuel lines/silver ****)
AN = fittings [blue and red ****]

check this out for more information on the fuel system.

aeromotive is the only name i brought out because it's one of the best fuel pumps next to weldons, i have cheap walbro - it does it job though. Most people run 1680cc injectors because it's basically great for secondaries for any turbo rotary and with top feed injectors "the 1680cc" ones you need to swap out your fuel rails because , i believe FD ones come with side feed injectors. Stock "mazda" stuff is high quality so that's why i mention the filter, but it's best to use a racing version.

yeh you'll need to make a new secondary fuel rail if you plan to run the bosch 1680cc injectors or one can be bought from a few of the rx7 specialist workshops. You will also have to remove your air control valve and make up a blanking plate as this doesn't fit with a top feed injector setup (there is probably ways around it but its simpler just to get rid of the ACV). You'll probably also need a malpassi (or similar) fuel regulator because your new fuel rail probably won't have a spot for the original regulator. A 10 ohm resistor needs to be included in each of the injector feed wires if you are using a power fc and 1680's otherwise you'll fry the computer.

You can also modify the primary fuel rail so that your original 850cc secondary injectors will fit it by machining a couple of mm off the top of it. To get the primary rail out is a bit of work because you really need to take out the 'snakes nest' of vacuum lines and ignition coils

An 850/1680cc injector setup is gonna give you all the fuel you'll ever need. Getting it to idle smoothly with the power fc is a bit of a hit-or-miss unless you have a datalogit. The car will run ok without tuning the power fc as long as you change the injector settings to suit, but you'll need some dyno time to get the tuning spot on. Make sure you set the fuel pressure with a guage if you decide to run with an adjustable regulator.

If you send it to a mechanic to do the whole lot it could get fairly expensive, i'd count on 2-3 hours to make the rail , and a day or more to change it all over.
