Time to order my single. Who to call?

I saw Roy Johnson, Jr post that his was a pretty sweet deal and I have a few questions. Who should I order from for a kit? Is the T78 for me? I will be driving it twice or three times a week at most and will not be 1/4 mile running...(much). Roy where did you order yours from?

I have also found a T61 kit here in the parts section. It looks nice but I don't know that much about this turbo. Can some one tell me if it is the right kit for me? I will be doing a Haltec and some other mods at the same time like, Brakes, Hood, seats, stearing wheel, Radiator. I am going to it all at once. Will anyone cut me a really good package deal?

Help me out cause every dollar was earned working my *** off for it in the Florida heat so I don't wanna **** any away. If you know of a kit sone one has that might be better than the t78 like mabe the T04S let me know.
The T61 kit I was considering was a .84 AR with a devided exaust manifold. It is listed in the Parts section here for 2200 bux. Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention that I can weld and so fabricating is an option, but my time is still worth something. A one off is never worth setting up for.

Ghostbusters! Not funny. I think you first need to decide on a turbo. Read the old posts, call up the various tuners, and just ask for advice like you're doing before plopping down all that dough. Keep in mind all the things that must accompany a single turbo too - engine management, fuel pump, fuel injectors, clutch, big IC, dual oil coolers (since they're oil cooled), dyno tuning, etc. There is a lot involved. You'll also need bigger wheels with wider tires to put down the power along with a whole host of things - radiator, suspension work, brakes, etc. Also, make sure the engine is healthy to begin with. Nothing worse than getting through all that and popping an apex seal or having an o-ring go.

There are a lot of turbos out there. What will you be using it for? The XS T04E and APEX IHI RX6 kits are really nice too. Finally, I wouldn't order everything from one place. All the best products are not in one location unfortunately. YOu will probably have to order from various places to get everything you want. Good luck and don't cut corners.

I guess I left out a few things. I have been reading a lot here on the forum so I have some Idea of what each kit is like. I already have an intercooler (large) and my motor was built and bridgeported by Pettit but is out of the car now and will be rebuilt again just to be safe (trying to get crispeed for this). I already have 10" wide 18" tall rear rims with huge tires and the fronts are 8.5s. So I'm set for wheels. I looked into the group buy for the radiator and anm on the list. I also looked into coilovers but they don't got a good group buy together yet. I am considering the group buy on the Haltech E6K but I contacted the guy and he said he would not be able to supply any support since he knows little about our cars. I am also doing a roll cage and 5 point harness setup like my buddy has in his Hennessey Viper. He is an engineer and will be helping with most of the setup and tuning. I haver another buddy that owns two old GTP cars and a Spice car and he will probably be of some help and has a Mill, Lathe etc. I am not building a "fast car" I am planning a package. It will not be cheap. I expect to have 25K or so in it from here. And it is a pretty nice car to start with. I have no delusions of a 5,000 dollar hotrod. I want a trick *** car. Everthing will be like new from front to rear. I will also be doing a carbon hood, rebuilt rear end, new clutch (maybe ACT) I have a light aluminum flywheel but not sure it is reusable?
Tyhe reason I posted here was to get feedback on the TURBOS. I have a plan for the rest. I am looking for a set of turbos that make the car fun to drive and will allow me to upgrade if I want. The T-78 seems to be popular but there are certainly other options. If you can give me your opinions I will listen.

Steve

P.S. The reason I mentioned the one
for sale in the parts section here
on the forum was to learn more about
that turbo. So if you know how it would perform on a 13brew let me know?

i thank you for responding.... We have different goals and needs. I have no air pump and no need. I do not want a piggback ECU. The reason is future mods updates etc. Plus the fact that I wanna dump lots of selonoids and stuff and the E6K looks like it is for me. I would go Motec but I don't wanna end up with 10 Gs in the computer. I am not that concerned with low end torque. I'm looking to have a car that is streetable not a STREET car. I must admit that I am building a toy. I have done this with motocycles and it's nice to be the fastest guy in your area (and I was on a 199 mph GSXR). I do not want to go quite as far with the car but I want it pretty extreeme. I am planning on making it nice enough to show on occasion also. Paint will be done with the rest of the mods.

I have thought the rest of the car thru pretty well. I have the fenders and nose off the car (they will be replaced) and I have the engine compartment gutted to get it ready for paint. I am still waiting on a fiberglass hatch to be made and lexan rear window. I will be doing some carbon work myself as I do this for bikes a lot. I want to dump as much unneede weight as possible short of gutting the car.
Anyway, the reason for this post is that I want a turbo setup that is fast but not unreasonabl laggy. It has to be able to be driven a sanely on occasion. Also there is no point in making 700 hp if you can't hook up until 4th gear. At some point it is overkill. WHERE IS THAT POINT?
