Hey guys, I'm ditching the twins and getting a t78 kit
I have PFC, CJ motorsports stage one fuel kit with aftermarket FPR, 750cc Primaries, and 1300cc secondaries, Walbro fuel pump. Catless midpipe with apex GT exhaust FMIC, HKS twin power ignition, NGK plus ( heat range 9 ) Greddy EBC and turbo timer... I had the clutch and flywheel replaced with ACT combo as well. I am planning on trying to get PF supercars or steve Kahn to tune this setup, But im worried about the stock ports
Motor has good compression
and low miles! Roughly how much power can i make at 15 psi with my setup?

Stickman,
Our T78 FD with stock ports, 3mm apex seals, and all supporting mods put down 374whp at about 15-16psi by PF Supercars. Its capable of more, but this is a conservative tune.

Hope this helps.

I think the turbo is to big for stock ports on street gas. Slow spool and too little exhaust flow. Now if you plan to run high boost on race gas, then it is better suited.
Good point ,but i am planning on replacing the stock engine with a pettit engine. I see you have a gt35r, how is that working out?

If you currently have a good stockport, with low miles, and good compression - then leave it alone.
Just get a properly sized single. My "little" 63-1 makes 507 rwhp at 20 psi (cant boost any more at redline). It also has full boost by 3k RPM, making it fun as hell on the street. I have a mild street-port.
I may get out-run in a long distance race, but I will usually out-accelerate much "faster" cars, and leave them in the dust. When their turbos finally wake up and decide to boost, I am already buslengths ahead, well into triple digit speeds, and need to slow down anyway.
Unless you just want a big dyno-sheet, you might want to re-think your setup.

t-78 on stockports is not a fun street car... well it is, but i'm with directfreak on this. for stock rew's i like the gt35r or a 62-1 similar to alex. even a 60-1 is great with awesome spool up and good for 400rwhp.
My T78 FD is running with a 3k mile Atkins motor with 3mm apex seals - stock port specs.
Turbo lag is not bad at all, we street it all day long, its fine (except for the 6-puck ceramic clutch
). Its setup on a verry verry conservative tune - low boost, conservative timing and a little on the rich side.
Right now the setup is a T78, 1300cc primaries, 550cc secondaries, stock FPR, TEC3 standalone - siick progam, pump gas @16psi.
With a less restrictive exhaust (we'll probably ad a cut-out), and 16psi with 101+- octane its capable of 400-415whp without having to be re-tuned since its already running on the rich side.
Ray at PFSupercars said I could bring it to him to have a race gas map created that would allow 18-20psi giving me 450whp or so depending on the type of tune.

Ray recommends we keep it below 16 unless we run race gas. 16 is where fuel cut is set at - so all in all its a safe setup according to him. Do keep in mind, its running quite a bit on the rich side too..
Im just relaying the info.

Also,
I drive it around town at 10-12psi - so its currently pretty conservative I'd say. 15-16 would be for racing or tracking if I wanted the extra boost.
Anyhow,
He said dont go above 16 - thats where fuel cut is at, so it has a built in fail safe. Anyways, since it's been tuned the car hasn't really seen 16psi - maybe 15 max.
T78 for two seasons with a Racing beat street port stock seals. The porting deffintly helps , but having enough fuel and good flow from your catback deffintly helps. One thing with the T78 is its efficency is around 20-25psi so at 16psi its barely alive. I plan on turning it to 20psi when I finish the supporting mods to my drivetrain. I also run a mix of pump and 116 octane just to add a little saftey margin .
I run 850primary and 1600 secondary injectors with twin supra fuel pumps. Its not rocket science , enough fuel, and more boost and its safe power.

25 psi, what did that yield on your setup? 500+ rwhp? this on only 550s and 1300s?
