passing with that much fuel will be tough. passing with a stock fd is damn tough in itself. lean it out as much as you can and try it.

What you could drive 4 hours down to ava mo and the car would not have a problem with inspection. They check nothing. I had a street port with dp,mp,catback, no air pump with 1300 and 850 and they did not even check the engine bay. all they did is blinkers and so on.

Eric, give me a call, I know a few ways to get the car idle tested, Which you should be able to pass.

in the oct. 2001 turbo magazine chris ott of rx7.com built a 411.9rwhp 3rd gen with w t78 at 17psi that passed smog. (they even show the emissions print up). he said the trick was to minimize emissions before they enter the cat. they linked the mazda ecu AND a haltech stand-alone, the haltech was just used for fuel and ignition mapping while the stock ecu was used for emission monitoring. they also used a 7" wide (wow) catalytic converter from bonez. they said the converter uses stainless-steel internals that are more often found cleaning up the toxic emissions from industrial smokestacks. haha thats great... so to answer your question.. yes it can be done!

Once you start mofifying the primary rail / runners, you start screwing yourself... as far as smog goes, a street port is just that standard or slightly enlarged primaries, and fairly large secondaries, so that you can get as much air when you need it @ WOT. no rotary would pass if they tested WOT....
So once you change the size / duty of the pri. Injectors, and The Primary Runners, you can try to lean it out as much as possible, but as I recall reading, at some point you trande hydrocarbons, for carbondyoxyde, and either direction you move, you trade one for the other.... No Winn Situation....

well if the people try and run my car on their machine at WOT i will be kicking their *** for running my car. There would be no reason to do this. I was thinking of using alcohol and welding another if not two more cats onto the stock midpipe just to pass. After i pass the regualr 3" MP is back in place to that i can kill all oxygen breathing life forms.
