T66 vs. GT40R

I have heard some awesome things about both of these turbos and I have heard that they are both near the same specs as the T78 but spool quicker because both are BB... Anyways, I wanted to get some peoples opinions on these. I was really leaning towards the Innovative Ballistic T66 but how would the GT40R compare in spool time, and power output? This may have been asked before but I cannot find ANYTHING on these two side by side. I am looking at a heavy street port running around 15psi around town. I'd love some serious power with quicker spool time than the T78. What turbo is better or... what are the positives from one to another? Thanks for the info!

The GT40R IS the ball bearing version of the GT40. So he's specifically asking about the GT40 with the ball bearing.

I thought the GT40R was smaller than the T78?

The 40R is slightly, very slightly smaller but has a more efficient wheel design. it is not the same as the GT40 in that you cannot get the same sizes as the GT40.
You can only get a .58a/r with either a .95 or 1.06 hotside.

The T66, and the GT40 are(can be) almost identical in size, but the GT40R A-spec has is water cooled, dual BB, andhas a more efficient wheel geometry.

So I guess the question is, compared to the T66 ball bearing, how is the GT40R's BB's? Will it spool up faster, or about the same, with better power?

What is the spool up on the T66?

S/B similar, maybe a little faster, but much better price. A T66 DUAL BB (not T'netics) will run you over two and a half grand, a GT40R S/B ~1600-1800.

So it sounds like the GT40R might be the way to go over the T66? With similar spool time but a more efficient wheel, are we talking better power output too? I mean, the GT40R can't just be flat out better than the T66; just look at the price What are some T66 pros over the GT40R? Let's just say price isn't an issue, what would you get and why?

Cost could be because Garrett is the end manufacturer, and whoever makes the T66 BB isn't the OEM of the turbo itself, so their cost is higher.

So what would you guys take? Is the T66 more of a drag turbo? I mean how do the two look against eachother? It sounds like both are close to the T78 in size so, what one has more lag? What one makes more top end? If it was your choice for a street turbo with as much power as possible but not horrible lag (that's why I am interested in these because they both seem like they accomplish this), what turbo would you go with and why? I am really trying to get the most opinions as possible so that I can make an educated purchase so any input on these turbos would really help me out! I am getting pretty excited about this project so anything that I do I will probably run through you guys so within the next month or more be ready for some good questions if a search doesn't turn anything up, of course

Carl, what RPM do you hit 15psi with that T66? Is it the BB version?
