Question T62-1 Turbonetics Turbo Output

I recently acquired a new Turbonetics T62-1 turbo. It has a .81 hot side, a .7 cold side, T4 housing, P-trim, and a 360 thrust bearing. How well with this Turbo perform in my RX-7?

Did you install it yet? I'm thinking of getting a similar setup. How much did it cost?

I only run 20psi since i have a 20#spring. Its a street ported engine with s4 8.5comp rotors. Anything 3800rpms or above it pulls hard.
At 10.8 et and 129.6 mph i would say it pulls pretty good.

yeah i was just wondering what rpms the different boost levels hit on their way to 20 psi... like 5 psi is at 3k 10 psi is at 3500 15 psi is at 3800 and full boost is at 4200. sounds like it spools up pretty fast.

I saw this setup on ebay and was wondering how the quality of it was, I'm in the market for a single and liek the looks of it. The BNR's just wont make this kind of power.

62-1 is a !GREAT! turbo choice for real world power (usable power). Boost and tune dependent you can expect anywhere from low to mid 400s around 15-20psi (on average). TURBO Response characteristics will be determined by your AR, trim, and offset (i.e. on center or tangential),

The .81 housing is on center (tangential is ideal but on center works too). It should spool fast and hard down low, you will experience some loss upstairs but it’s a trade off. If I had to guess your trim is probably a P because that is the most common choice.

*Note*

*1.You do not want to run more than 20-21psi or so on a 62-1 because after that it’s falling of the map and is pumping HOT air.

*2. You will need a very good wastegate of you may experience boost creep with the .81 housing.

FYI
I am running a 62-1 on my car (HKS SS divided manifold) .84 Tangential Q trim 4 inches exhaust and it responds like a sewing machine.
