T61 vs GT35R

while were on the subject, what have people been able to run on pump gas with the t61?
am i being conservative at 16-17psi? im running 14degrees of advance with my crank trigger at 67 degrees. (haltech)
afrs are between 10.5-11:1

ive run my pt61 up to 21 psi on pump gas with around 12 degrees advance at that point. a/f ratios around 10.8.
made over 450rwhp with stock motor, but i was spinning my wheels on the clayton dyno...
im only running 17-18 psi now on a ported motor. around 13 or 14 degrees there

oh and as for pt61 spoolup...
id see 20psi at about 4500 rpm on my stock motor. hks cast manifold, racing beat exhaust, .96 p trim wheel.
i JUST broke in a street port motor with this turbo.. it has hit 7psi (6.7 spring in wastegate) below 3000 rpm. ill post more info when i get everything tuned with this motor.

yeah im still using the .96 housing. i have 3 springs. 6.7, the 10 and the 1bar. the 10psi spring will let you hold some decent boost. i have the 1bar if i need to go crazy =]
the 6.7 spring wont be able to hold the boost for sure. i saw the same thing happen with it. i only have it in there to break in the motor

if all youre going to run is 15 psi id say go with a 60-1, if youre going to run more, definitely pt61.
id think a half bridge might be a little too much for a pt61.. id suggested a 63 or a 66.

heres a plot i did a while ago. 20psi pt61

and another kinda ghetto one (dots are 4k - 8k rpm) so you can see where the pt61 kinda runs out.

heres a 60-1 graph... you can see at a pressure ratio of 2.4 (20 psi) and 55-60 lbs/min its getting pretty far out of efficiency and you can see its not suited for higher pressure ratios.
[QUOTE=ErnieT]There's no way in hell a GT35R will ever see 500rwhp. Maybe if you overspin it and overheat it at some 30psi and two weeks later the oil seals puke on ya.
Would you put money on that last statement?

If you can prove him wrong I'd love to see the dyno chart. I think that it might be possible with the new T4 hotside GT35R, but I would be surprised to see 500rwhp on the T3 hotside 35R.

yeah mines the t4 on a street port. The cars been coming along little by little over the last 2 years, but I hope to shock some people by the end of this summer. It still needs to be tuned after I get the body finished up. In the next week or two i'm having my new pettit rear flares molded on and painted. So bottom line i'll have new pix and a dyno sheet by the end of august hopefully sooner.... Had to throw the flares in i'm pretty excited about em.

So the GT35r will no way in hell make 500whp, yet it makes 450 at under 20psi on some setups and can handle a proven, in actually and map wise, 30psi+? What the hell is going on here?
this guy doesnt seem to have a problem running the gt35r at 30+psi, its not on a rx7 though.

I'm quite sure that the T4 hotsided GT35R's that A-spec is selling will hit 500rwhp with a streetport, good tuning, and race gas. I'll be happy with 425-450rwhp on pump gas. I fully believe that's a reachable goal.
