T60-1 with a 0.84a/r too small?
hi...i am really close to getting the t60-1...but i have been searching a couple threads and some say that the 0.84a/r turbine side will run out of breath up top...since i use the car for street and circuit i want about 350 to 400whp with minimal lag...can i use the 0.84 or should i consider going with the 1.00?...would it be a lot laggier?...thanks

if you have a compressor wheel that is more efficient then the small a/r won't be too bad. what about a ball bearing turbo?
|
I believe the 60-1 with a .84 is ideal for the Hp range you want to be in. The 1.00 A/R would be necessary if you were looking push it past 450whp. It should be fine.

yeah..its a ball bearing turbo im looking at...

mate there is a 60-1 threat.
You will hit your 350, but not 400. Also is on the small size but if you after no lag that's on the money, I would expect it to drop off a bit in the high rev range. I run a 60-1 with a 1.15 rear and fine that fine for my driving style. |
ya i'm running .96 and i hit 353hp at 10psi revving to 7200 rpm. So ya i would go higher than .84 unless you want super response and want around 350.

i use to have a t04s with a 60-1 comp and ptrim .84 hotside, spooled quick and power never fell off on a stock port cosmo

i guss a smaller A/R would be better for track car if you dont want any lag. that is my main goal right now im have a 60-1 too but i forgot what my hotside is but im going for 350-400 with min lag.

what if i decide to go with a streetport when i rebuild in the future?...would the .84 be ok?...
|
yes

Some guys have got higher but its been with additives (AI, WI or c16 etc.) Which is kinda cheating when comparing like turbo's. Post up your dyno to show the others mate. Good for tech reference. so others can follow. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-non-technical-pictures-198/60-1-62-1-club-post-if-you-have-one-742289/ |

If that's just on pump fuel, that's the second highest recorded hp Ive seen on a 60-1.

I have a T60-1 with a 1.3 a/r.... in the beginning I thought I would have some serious issues with spooling... BUT since getting the car mapped I get 15psi by 4400 rpm and it pulls like a train till 7500 rpm (18psi by 4600 rpm)
This is 15psi from 4000rpm in second till beginning of fourth... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wyYKCJnytPw |
