No race for me next weekend. Turbo is still smoking like a big stack, tranny is still **** after tearing apart 4 times and I think I broke my damn left foot tonight at b'ball.

On a good note.. my two new T04E's and SARD racing w/g finally arrived!

I dunno what the hang-up is with being in Japan and getting parts.&nbsp Sure, I was like that one time, but I realized that the U.S. and Aussie both have a very good supply of aftermarket parts available.&nbsp About the only thing you'd lose out on is the body kits these Japanese tuner release every year...nothing a good fiberglass and composites guy can't replicate.

In terms of performance parts, there is NOTHING that can't be replaced by something outside of Japan.

Hell, this stuff costs and arm and a leg in Japan anyways!

Getting HKS related parts sucks because you can't use Normal Garrett replacement parts. HKS purposely has their parts made slightly different. A good example is the T04S and 60-1 compressor blades. Both blades have exactly the same inducer and exducer but the bottom of the 60-1 blade is flat while the T04S is convex. The T04S blade also cost $200 more than the 60-1.HKS Japan will not entertain the idea of a customer purchasing blades because they'd rather let you get ripped by Authorized rebuild shops that want to charge $1k for a rebuild . That's some serious BS.

Now getting used parts is a different thing. We can get parts a hell of a lot cheaper than you guys and with the yen rate we save another 25%~35%.

Body parts.... bwahahahahaha! There are too many GOOD shops that reproduce Amemiya, Shitside(Veilside), C West, Mazdaspeed and just about every other kit made for half the price of the over priced original FRP or CFRP part. CFRP hoods that once cost $1k or more are found everywhere for $600 or less now.

Sorry but Japanese parts are cheaper when bought in Japan. Too many american shops get crazy with the markups!

GT turbos are a good example! $2000 and 200000yen @ 130yen/$ is not the same price. After doing the exchange rate 200000yen is only $1538.46.
