T04R vs PT67-GTQ

67s like low 20s, and up. same for the 74, and 76. Boost will not be linear, it cames on like a freight train. With RLTC, put your foot to the floor, and it goes, you can program wheel spin from 0 to 20%(difference from the front) cockpit adjustable with a **** once programed, fuel or ignition cut, your choice. Also, full throttle shift, keep your right foot planted, depress the clutch, the RLTC rev matches, and you shift(the whole process takes less time than you moving the shift lever)the cut can be all at once, linear, whatever you want. There are many faster Supras, a 67 is considered mid sized, like a 60-1 .96AR is here. Here is a .81 GTQ @33psi, that would be a gain of 500rwhp, and 425ftlbs in 1100rpm Topping out in the mid 700s. Properly tuned a .81 P trim will hold ~600ftlbs to redline on the MKIV.

See that's my concern is that yeah it's a great turbo, but unless you're running 20+ psi, is it really a wise choice for the street? I'd be worried I wouldn't have any efficiency at 15-18psi. Those are some great #s though...wow. Seems like it would be a great dual purpose turbo if you can still get good numbers in the lower PSI range. Obviously you can crank the boost up to the 2 bar area for race day but if you can still produce HP in the lower area on that low of AR, crap, you'd be buying tires every 2 months.

With RA1s, I get ~4000 miles out of the rears, 8000 out of th fronts. With Kumho MX(I think the best street tire value), I get ~6000 rear, and 15000 front. That's with not particularly aggressive driving. Aggressive, 5 minutes for a set of rears Carl

@15psi, spool slows down, and rwhp on a street port is 400-450 depending on tune.

I meant to say that I'm running a .84 divided turbine housing, GTQ turbine wheel with a 4" DP. I never felt that the .84 housing/GTQ was restrictive on the top end. Seriously, my car is primarily street driven and anybody who has driven a car with this much HP knows that it is a handful. Certainly one doesnt' need more power. Unless you are racing it kinda becomes just a game of numbers.

I still feel the PT67/GTQ is an aweseome turbo and I highly recomend it.

I was under the impression that you only wanted the GTQ wheel if you were running a big street port and P trim for anything under that.

Well from what I can tell it seems like i'm getting 20lbs on the AVC-R at arounf 4200 ...

I'm getting massive wheelspin on the 245's though so it's probally not a horribly accurate reading .. One of these days i'll dith these stupid FD wheels and get some meat on the back ...

So Carl, based on your experience/knowledge, would you expect a PT67GTQ .67 AR to be a good choice for the street? sub 20 PSI?

Is there any technical info available on these turbos anywhere? I mean from Precision's website you can't tell what the options are: Ball bearing? Wet center? anything else?

Sorry, I still feel like I know little to nothing about the details of this turbo and just trying to figure out what I'm getting myself into if I decide to go that route.

Yea there is not a lot of info about this turbo. I have done a lots of research on google, but I didn't really find useful stuff.

i believe the pt67 and the t4/to4r are very similar turbochargers. there really isnt much difference in the two. it all comes down to different wheel and housing choices.

I am not sure which will be best, which is why I will be testing a 67P, .81P, and a .81 q trim T66. i expect the .81 P trim to be the best for roadv coarse, but a .84 divided Q, or a .81 undivided will give you more top end. the TO4R is an old scholl turbo, and does not generally use the garrett GT wheels(you can build almost anything). Still waiting for kabooski to tell me how many blades he has on his hotside, then I will have a much better idea. You can order the turbo dry, or wet, divided, or bnot from precision. just make sure they have all the parts in stock to build it Keep in mind this is a 20 psi and above turbo for the most part.

Trav, the turbo you mention is a smaller Ar, than what anyone i know of is running as a Q trim, maybe is the answer

Well, Kabooski does in fact have a PT67 .81 GTQ with an HKS cast manifold, search for his "I hit 520 rwhp today" thread. I will be dynoing a .81 T66 Q trim in two weeks, and a PT67 .81 P trim. The P trim 67 spools 400 rpm faster in a .68 AR Q trim on a Supra, but gives up ~10% HP on the top end. Keep in mind this is at ~30 psi. At 20-25 psi, I think the P trim will simply spool faster, and the power will not be an issue since I am only shooting for 450RWHP with as fast a spool as possible @~20 psi. I will start with the T66, but a Q trim T66, and a P trim 67 flow almost the same. It is very interesting to note that CARX7 had a dual BB .84 GTQ 67 with a very well designed divided manifold, and made ~470@19psi, vs Kabooski with a journal bearing PT67 GTQ .81, and an HKS Cast made 520@ 20psi. I think that the tuner was a part of the equation(maybe half the difference), but I think the .84 divided was maybe a little small. Somebody can chime in, but a .81 is closer to a 1.00 divided I believe. Also I think they both have very large street ports, with Chris's car having every bell, and whistle vs Roger having the bare minimum in terms of mods... Anyway, if you want tons of info on 67s, go to Moreboost.org click on the 67 in its various iterations, My friend ZSilvino runs the .68 PT67 GTQ, and like Chris has every possible mod. Silvinos car spools slowerthan his old T66 P trim with fewer mods. op end was better, but again only by ~10 or so. Look at Andi baratichis pulls on a cast manifold with the 67 GTQ, and you will see why I am using a P trim 67 on my Supra with the cast manifold. All these turbos spool so fast on a Supra it takes RLTC to keep the car straight at under 100mph @ WOT. Pretty much every tuner I've talked to(alot of them) thinks the 67 P trim will be way too small, so I will definitely try it in two weeks

I was just in SF too......I did go by Rotary Extreme, picked up some parts.
