I've been looking as well...I did see some at www.turbonetics.com (this is not the official Turbonetics, Inc.) web site, merely a reseller. THey offer T4 style heat shields. They look very nice and may work for our app.

No prob. I haven't called them about it. If you do, pass on what they said (compatibility).
Thanks!

I spoke to them about 6 months ago. They are custom made by a vendor for them. They won't give out the vendor's info. They say that it would be prohibitively expensive to make them for a custom application(I was inquiring about it for my GT3540). They fit T3/ T4 Turbos.

i made one out of a small sheet of aluminum. not the best looking but it seem to work pretty good.

its not on a t78 but I think it would be about the same to make one. I just used a water pitcher and curved the aluminum sheet around it, then formed the rest by hand. cut a few spots on the back to make mounting points on the exhaust housing studs. not the best pics but maybe you can get some idea.

I purchased Thermotec's turbo insulation kit and installed that last night on the turbo and downpipe. I'll probably rig up a heat shield regarless, similar to Mako's. Thanks for the pictures.
