Some Noobish Turbo-related questions
1. How EXACTLY does a boost controller work?
I understand what it is supposed to accomplish, i'm just a little unclear as to how. Does it bleed off boost pressure from the charge pipe or does it actuate the waste gate, or something else?
2. In regards to a stock FC turbo-
I don't have a waste gate actuator so could i just wire the internal wg shut and plumb in an external wastegate ( i have to make an exhaust spacer anyways)

1. It controls the wastegate allowing more exhaust to pass through it for less turbine rpm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wastegate
2. I'm not familiar with the stock fc turbo, but I think you could do it, but it doesn't sound like a good idea.

You could wire/weld the flapper shut, but you would have to find someone who can weld on and external wastegate to the stock manifold and I don't know to many people that could do that.
Another way to do it is to have someone make a divorced downpipe for the stock turbo. Remove the stock flapper and put an external there.
What happened to the stock wastgate actuator?
