snug fit stud kit - how much hp?

Hey guys, as the title states, I built a HBP 13b-re engine with the snug fit stud kit from Turblown.
Do you guys have any idea the max power I should attempt to make with this engine?
The guy from Turblown said about 500whp. Anyone?

Thanks.

I would put my money into balancing before studding... What are your goals?

I forgot the name but there is thread about the pros and cons of studding and most rotary turners would say to stay away from studding, that it is a step backwards.

Give it a search and Good luck..

Balancing yes, backwards no, if elliot says it's good for 500whp then it's good for 500whp. I'm not sure what the product is but you could run more than 500whp.

Cool

Here's the thread i was talking about..

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=stud+kit

The guy who say's "it's a backward step" has a 700hp 1st gen rx7 and several others have stated that studding brings trouble and just add more dowel pins instead. a pretty convincing thread.

lol. everyone in that thread are pretty good. rx72c i live by some things he says and does. very good young fella. idk if that thread was convincing really. the only thhing i got was studs will work if done correctly and dowells just work period. in my eyes dowling and studding are two diff conversations.

They both can "just work" period, and they both can fail period. The argument is stupid. The arguments against studding are just as pointless. Studding don't crack plates detonation does. If studding cracked your plate you did something wrong.

exactly. I was thinking about this today...im wondering who is running dowells all the way threw with studs and also with extra dowels. Im also wondering were some ppl are placing there dowels when they put them in.

thanks guys....I studded the kit to the specs that were given to me by Turblown.
My goal is 450-500whp on pump gas and 50/50 water/meth.
If I do try for that much power, I will let you guys know the outcome.

When using stock oem bolts the engine will stretch under boost( usually past 500rwhp) its only a few thousands, but enough to be an issue. You don't want the engine to move past normal expansion rates. This was measured with a strain gauge on an engine dyno.

Head studs are a common upgrade on piston engines, same thing happens. The head will move so much it will blown out the head gaskets. You see the exact movement marks on rotor housings...
