to smog or just sell

OKay i got a 94 rx7 with a mild streetport and brand new t04e. ENgine has like 30k on it car has 102k. i want to sell it asap. but atm it is not smog'd, which i have been trying to get done for the last 3 months... It has been passed by this guy once before as is. But this time he was like you are missing your airpump, egr valve and ur check engine lights doesnt' work. I"m like Freak the light and you passed it without the other things before. Anyways i ordered a GM electric airpump and a stock EGR valve, Fake hooked them up so they look like they are good to go but dont really work.(I did this because i can pass the numbers as is, with some Denatured alcohol.) Took it there today and he said that since the airpump isn't the stock one he would still have to list it as modified. That pisses me off.

NE ways my question is how much do you think it would cost a shop to get my car to pass smog? Or do you think that it would be better if i just tried to sell it and have whoever is buying the car smog it. Give them like thousand dollars off or something.

first of all, that guy probably been caught doing "smogs" for people. Thats why hes gotten so much more strict.

i personally got a smog license. And if got caught once, is fine(you and the shop) + school. Second time would be license suspension. Third time = jail =*(.

Therefore, if you really dont want to get the headache of going thru smogging the car before selling. Have a deal with the new buyer, sell them the car for certain amount less like u mentioned earlier. Have them deal with it.

Hope this helps =)
