single turbo set-up Question

Ok, I have been quoted $2000 for a XS engineering signle turbo kit set-up.

Here is what he said:

RX-7 kits feature: Cast ductile iron exhaust manifold for extreme temperatures suitable for Rotary engines. Genuine Garrett parts in our turbochargers. Thick walled exhaust tubing and heat shielding included. Hi-gloss black powder-coated 2.50" intercooler pipe. HKS Racing W/G with 50mm valve. A'PEXi Twin Chamber Blow off valve. Earl's brand stainless braided oil lines. All necessary Grade 10.9 or higher fasteners. Single Turbo (Strip-spec T04S), Max Power = 389.7hp @ 6900rpm. Single Turbo (Strip-spec T04S), Max Torque = 312.9ft-lbs. @ 6300rpm

Getting the intercooler, wastegate, and BOV in this deal seems to be a BIG PLUS as I was looking to pay for them all seperatly and pay over $2000 for it. But with this swap to single turbo my big question is what else am I going to have to do to make it a single turbo engine? What happens with the Y-pipe? Intake? exhaust manifold? etc.... I just dont want to spend $2000 and then have another $2000 to mak emy engine compatible. SO plz answer what other upgrades I will need to make and also if you think this set-up is a good deal. Thanks!

There's no intercooler included in the info you posted. I assume the kit is used?

You ditch all the stock twins stuff like the y-pipe. You have to fab an intake up to the turbo.

No offense, but by the nature of your question, it doesn't sound like you know a whole lot about the topic...do you already have the following items?

*stand-alone ecu like PFC, Haltech
*larger intercooler
*upgraded fuel system
*exhaust
*hi-flow cat or midpipe
*someone to tune your car with the single turbo

If you don't have all of these, then yes, more money will be required.....

Also, since you live in Cali, you will have to figure out what to do at emissions time...

Your right..I do not know much about the single set-up. I actually have decided to go with stock twins upgraded instead of single turbo. I do however have all those items you have mentioned but will put them to the stock twins. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it!
