Single Turbo Intake Recommendation

Well my K&N intake has just melted and cracked off my T62 single turbo. Apparently the K&N's rubber neck was getting too hot and due to the lack of support to the front section of the filter it has cracked by the coupler. I'm looking for a intake for a T62 single turbo, any suggestions?

Use a K&N, but wrap the opening of the turbo with heat wrap and put the filter over the top of that. You may need to go 1 size larger on the intake to get it to fit.

It cracked because of the heat, plain and simple.

Best option is to NOT mount the filter directly onto the snout of the turbo! Get some pipe and using high quality rubber bends, attach it to the snout and then mount the filter on the end of the pipe. Here is a photo of my engine bay from a while ago, but with the same setup:

Thanks for the info guys. Question since I have a third gen with fluidyne radiator and greddy FMIC it doesn't leave too much room for my intake. I know the intake is sucking in a hell of a lot of hot air. Does anybody have a more efficient setup on their 3rd Gen where the intake gets less hot air?

Can't you get a filter to fit up close to the front side of the engine bay near the radiator side and connect it with a hard pipe to the turbo?
