Well, my car will soon be pushing for 500 hp. Would the exedy twin plate clutch work well? Thanks

Hey Chris I also had a m2 lightened flywheel and clutch setup for about 5k miles
The car made near 400rwhp and I had absolutely no problems with the clutch

However now I've changed my setup and I'm shooting for 475rwhp
I was sad to waste the clutch that was not slipping but I didnt want to have to do it again or take any chances on it slipping while im paying for tuning!

So I sent it to SPEC clutch in alabama and they modified my flywheel and made a new disk. Its not that hard to drive and they told me it will hold whatever I throw at it and last a very very long time. estimated 500ft pounds tq that it can hold
make sure to get a new pilot and throwout bearing when you do the clutch

Thanks for the advice. Good thing you changed out your M2 clutch and flywheel because it is crap. Once my turbos kick in my clutch is fucked straight to hell. It cant hold up for ****

It must be old or you beat on it a lot? I don't think you are making 400rwhp at .8bar like I was and mine was fine

Jason from rx7store.net has a spec clutch too I heard after I got mine ; )

Im looking at the spec clutch as well....should be pushing about 430-450rwhp once I upgrade the clutch...right now i run the act street strip and it slips in the upper rpms....it did however hold up very well with 381rwhp and 321 foot pounds of torque on my m2 twins car. for some reason it just started slipping....age i guess...and abuse....i drove the hell out of that clutch for at least 50k miles with no probs...though i did change the disk out when i rebuilt the motor the previous time.

for 400rwhp and under the act street strip pressure plate will perform well on the stock disk and throwout. it held like glue for years and took a huge beating.

now i have exedy envy.....but am going to have to settle for either the act extreme or the spec clutch that spoautos runs.
