Single turbo carb'd 13b?

I have been looking around for information on different setups, but most of them are for big power. Has anyone done a small turbo on a 13b with a weber, and no IC, just straight in the carb? It's 1:00 AM and I'm at work brain storming a system for my 84. The goal is to get 13's N/A but after I reach that goal I think I'm going to start experimenting with boost. The biggest problem so far is trying to figure out the piping and mounting for IC and getting an idea of how much boost the poor 13b will take with this setup. I'm not looking for tons of boost, just want it it breath better on the top end.

Can anyone give me some links to some turbo carb setups? I have been searching, but I find that people always have favorites and cool links that they keep to themselves

you're probably setting yourself up for a shot in the foot if you do this without intercooling, but hey ... it's your dime, right?

you may want to look up RotaryShack on this board, i know Robert built a car without an intercooler a while back and i know many of the cars he built or supplied parts for were Weber-based, so you should be able to get some pics, ideas and info if you search with his name or RotaryShack + turbo.

Thanks, I doubt I will try without an IC, but I was curious about it. Never seen it done and had to see if it was even possible

just make sure you are using a carb w/ a polyurethane float and not a brass one. and you have a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator.

NOOBS!! I run a s5 street potred 13bt blowing through a werber 45dcoe @10 pai not intercooled. as long as you run premium it won't pop. I ran 89 one time and boost spiked to 15 and it detonated on me. SEARCH the 1st gen section there are tons of blowthrough cars on here. Also try www.rotaryshack.com for anything you'll ever need.

Hyper, the 45DCOE isn't too small for a ported turbo 13B?

It's not a 13b, but I've run a 12a with a stock nikki carb non-intercooled at 16psi for abour 10k miles. It didn't hurt much in the engine except it wore out all the springs on the rotors and cracked 1/2 the corner and side seals, but it still had good compression when I pulled the engine to port it. The 45 is small for a ported 13b, try to get at least a 48.

When you're blowing throught it it's not too much of an issue. If the car was NA it would be a greater bottle neck. choke size is the limiting factor anyway. and most guys with 48's run 38mm chokes. I've got 40mm 38mm and 36mm at my disposal.
