Are you referring to something like the Fire Jacket from Aeroquip? It's an insulated fireproof sheath that fits over your existing lines. Try www.bakerprecision.com

Eric,
Don't you have to have a wastegate first?? jk

I found an Aeroquip dealer on the westside. They probably have what you are looking for. I believe they are open till 12pm on saturdays. If you want to head over there let me know. JOAT off wells Rd is an Earl's dealer. They probably have something that will work also.

You can get vaccum hose covered in braided stainless steel pretty cheap, I think I got 6 feet for about $14 at a local performance shop called JEGS. It isn't Earl's, but it looks just like it...

It's what you see here going into my intercooler pipe, then back to the boost controller solenoid and wastegate. (yes, I need to replace that plastic T)

i have seen guys bend up brake line to get past the really hot areas and then just use vacuum hose on the ends. Looks very neat and avoids burning up lines. By the way it is a good idea to flare the ends. It is a bit more work but worth the effort.

Stainless hose is not heat resistant. It'll transfer the heat quite nicely and melt the inner rubber/teflon, whatever is in there.

How about some cheap 1/4" aluminum tubing from the hardware store? It's like $1 a foot or something like that. Use a flare tool and a tubing bender (or the railing on your deck, a hammer handle, baseball bat...) to shape it.

I just finished installing my EVC and I used Earl's Fire Jacket to protect my Baker's vacuum hose. This stuff is great, it's very flexible and durable. I'll eventually do a Home Depot hard line wrap with the FireJactet.
Oh, I also used it to wrap the ABS line, since its soo close to the hot *** turbo.

Hey Jetlag, where can I get that "Fire Jacket" from? I checked Baker, Summet & Jegs but found nothing.

Go to Sub-Zero's link again and scroll down. They spell it FyreJacket and it comes in silver and orange. Not the greatest choice in colors, LOL.

I would think that stainless steel line would be better than aluminum, although a bit pricier.

You can get stainless steel lines here.Inline Tube

Is it possible for heat to travel through the stainless line and effect the inner tubing? I'm planning on shielding my braided lines around the turbo and exhaust area.

es, I got the FireJacket from Earl's www.earlsperformance.com. I used the 1/2" orange F/J which fits perfectly.
