Relationship between high boost and engine life.

All you guys running high boost, 15-20+ psi on a regular basis (which is probably everyone here ):

Do you have any idication of the expected life-span of your engines (assuming its well tuned, of course)?

IAN had a discussion with a well respected rotary guy here in Canada, and he said they usually last a couple of years. Ouch

I know there are mainly 13B-REW guys here, but I'm sure it the same standards apply to the 13B (I'm running 14 psi daily).

I'd estimate on a streetported 13B running 15-20 psi daily... the engine will last anywhere from 0 - 5 years. (range dependant on quality of tuning).

If I'm not mistaken RICE RACING has been running a pretty high boosted 13B for a number of years now, I could be wrong though?

The B-REW has higher compression rotors which would tend to detonate easier, BUT the later model FD has increased side clearance rotors which could reduce the torsional stress under high boost...

I am not normal. Most locals can probably confirm that for you if you doubt me.

I expect to be on the 24 mo engine replacement plan. I don't plan to blow any of my motors, but will replace them as "used" after their second season (estimated 20k miles). Since I am buying Pineapple motors with 5yr/60k warranty, I'll have to see what I can work out with Rob to see if transfering the warranty to a new owner is an option. If so, I'll have a nice broken-in Pineapple motor with the balance of the warranty to sell in 18months (or less).
