Red hot pipes

I recently bought a single turbo kit from a seller on ebay. Nothing fit right but luckily, I have access to a machine shop. I started it up tonite to check for oil leaks and such, and found that after about a 10 minute warm-up, the exhaust manifold from the block to the turbo is red hot. I mean when you idle up, its real red. Is this normal? If it is, should I wrap it with insulation, or what?

that wouldnt be the turbos fault, thats generally a sign that you are running lean, adjust your AF mixture
