Re-using rotor housings with gourges from damaged apex seals in the exhaust port area

Has anyone reused rotor housings that have this type of damage in the exhaust port area. I have a couple of housings with this type of damage, wanted to know if they could be used to build a not so perfect engine.
Seeing that the damage is not in the compression or combustion area could they be used if the marks are completely deburred?

I am sure some of you guys have done this before and have relative success.
Let me know.

No flaimg please, just coments based on experience please.

Yea I've used some housings like these on not soo important engines. Just make sure you smooth out the edges around the burrs.

I've done it for test engines. As stated above make sure that there's no areas that rise above the sealing plane. There's absolutely no problem at all with it, you'll just have a little overlap from it. If you're using the stock LIM use that as the front rotor housing...

Just remember its not ideal, and it may be weakened in those areas.

can't seem to put my finger on WHY you would use it on the front...

i have used one with simular damage also... on my personal engine... but i put it in the rear, so that when i finally found a good replacement i could just remove the rear iron, and rotor, then swap the housings while leaving the front untouched...( don't knock it, done it before with no problems)

What method would be used to check for high spots around these marks, and what tool is best to debur level them?

You mean you dont actually disassemble the entire motor? You just remove the flywheel, rear plate and change the rotor housing?
