I am using cheap eBay 12 inch low profile fans but the radiator is fully shrouded and sealed. Have not had a single issuein the Arizona heat. Temps are rock solid at 86C letting it sit and idle in the sun and 83 to 85 when cruising around. If you are running an aluminum radiator it probably won't take much. Just make sure the radiator is shrouded and is sealed properly.

I have the HKS V-mount as well and have been planning a low profile SPAL setup for a long time, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

One thing I must say though, the HKS v-mount is definitely not the best designed v-mount and is very overpriced (especially with todays exchange rate...got mine when it was still over 100 jpy/usd), but their tube/fin intercooler core is top notch and their endtank design is second to none...much better than others on the market.

The intercooler itself is beautiful but the rest kit is junk... Its instructions didnt help one bit. It in fact delayed me a lot ( never seen it installed) .. After looking at some pics it made some sense..

I have yet to finish installing it because the junk radiator jaspeed was leaking and im waiting for a fluidyne to arrive.

Seems i am sold on the spal options.. A friend locally swears by them as well as my aussie buddy brad
I will see what kind of fabrication i ll need to do to fit a nice set

how i mounted mine:

the top tabs on the rad are slotted and the bottom tabs are drilled, so it has to move upward to come out of the bottom tabs.
