Pros? Cons? SR motorsports KKK turbo
Pros? Cons? SR motorsports KKK turbo
Was just wondering if anyone was using the KKK turbo that SR motorsports makes. They seem to be nicely priced for the performance they claim they can bring. They use it in their own 8.5 second fd.

Depends on which one your talking about. I have the stage 2.....The one on Ray Lochead's car is a stage 6....BIG difference.
Pro's
1. Pretty quick spool up for a bigger turbo
2. Above average power
Con's
1. Pricy to buy
2. Even more to rebuild....($700)
3. Bitch to install
4. Kit doesn't come with dump tube
5. You have to beat the fender wall in to get it to fit
If I had to buy another turbo kit, it wouldn't be this one. I'd look into Innovative turbo. Something like the Dual ball-bearing T-72

I second everything that ErnieT said about the stage 2 KKK. I also designed an engine brace to prevent the motor from torquing over and banging the turbo into the frame rail.
My choice of turbos cost me a lot of work just to have a different turbo than most. I must give kudos to Ray for supporting me through ignition/tuning problems not related to his turbo kit. As a result, I have an unecessarily expensive wastegate at no cost to me.
