preparing to buy a single turbo

hey guys , i havent really ever posted hear but ive been reading this forum alot. i was in a situation where i could sell my m3 and use a substantial amount more to get a nice high end car. ive decided tho that i love my m3 2 much 2 sell. im looking to spend about 30-32 thousand on a nicely built single turbo rx7 then spend a little more money to make it how i would like it. my question doesnt really have to do with the mechanics of a single turbo but general rx7 anatomy , i love the low beam lights , they look awesome but im not a big fan of flip up headlights , are there kits 2 replace these? are they of high qualitly? whats the general rx7 owner concensus on them? thanks for any help u can give me , feel free to throw in any other advice pertaining to single turbo rx7s , once again thanks for your help.

Re: preparing to buy a single turbo

your best bet is to search the forum..you'll get different opinions

theres many single turbo options out there...if your looking for a "kit" then these 3 kits seem very popular
Apexi RX-6
A-spec GT35/40
Greddy T-78

good luck

the size turbo u get depends on what kind of racing u want to do.... assuming u want to race.... the bigger teh turbo the slower spool is the general rule of thumb... really big turbos with slow spool are usually used for drag... and faster spoolin turbos are better for track racing in most applications... the 3 listed are the mid range turbos they are all bigger than the stock turbos and smaller than thier large brothers.... a spec has a new turbo that is supposed to be quite nice.... gt70r or sumthin.... also the rx6 comes in 2 trims a and b... a is the smaller faster spooling and b is the larger but still extremely fast spooling turbo... check the www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7 site for more information in the upgrades section... happy hunting

As for light kits, I'd check out www.rotaryextreme.com . I know that RE Amemiya makes a nice kit, but I know rotary extreme does HID conversions which are totally badass.

If your budget is really that big, consider a 20b... In fact one member has a built FC Vert w/ 20b motor for sale somewhere near that price range.

hey if you want to have sweet seven... just buy one with a blown engine... and get the 3 rotor conversion for $35,000... now that would be sweet.... 600 hp at low boost....
