post your EGT temp

Westac 2C2......1300F (700C) on the whole cruising at a steady 70mph on a straight stretch of road. It's only been installed for about an hour. I'm a little disappointed in the reaction time of the gauge compared to say a Fluke 52II that I use for the intercooler intake and outlet temps. That meter is instantanous. The EGT, to be kind, is slow to show changes in temperature. I'm disappointed enough to think about ordering a *E* type thermocouple for the Fluke and somehow installing it in the exaust.

Maybe other EGT gauges other than Westach are faster????????????????????????

just got my gauge in yesterday. today i was getting 1300*F max with my probe about 4-5 inches from my turbo. this was at 16psi with a t78

So whats the DANGER ZONE for temps? If 1300*f is good at high speeds then what is the temp to shut down your engine or just back off the gas?

Mine gets up to 700c after going through all the gears. If I boost in one gear it reads mid 600s.

i have two EGT, one for either exhaust port. at idle the rear is at about 450'C and front is just over at full boost the rear is just a bit above 900 and the front is on 900 exactly.
