piece together a kit ?

I was wondering if I were to buy the gt35/40 turbo seperately, how much it would cost. and if the gt35/40 turbo would fit the obx or hks manifolds on ebay...

thanks,

scott

you can buy the turbo just about anywhere. the manifold needs to be a t3. dont buy an obx.

i bought an obx...the flange needed to be resurfaced...but other than that it is a pretty good manifold...unless you have a huge turbo...then some more modification needs to be done.

I also would suggest not buying anything OBX, SSAutochrome or otherwise.
Your better off with the HKS products. Dont buy that crap wastegate on ebay either. It doesn't work.

I believe you can get a GT35R BB with a T4 hot side now. Alternately cheapturbo sells the GT35R compressor with a plain bearing center section and a T4 hot side. I have this turbo installing on an Autochrome manifold and it works fine. As Flyboyjuge said, you have to have the flanges machined flat, but competent machine shop should be able to take care of it in under an hour.

My friend has the same manifold with one of the generic wastegates and had a bunch of problems with the wastegate.

I also had to have my manifold machined flat. I should say that other than that I have not had any problems with it.. yet.

So you have the GT35R from cheapturbos on your car? How does it compare to the real GT35R kits? I mean spool up/max power/max power on pump gas etc?

You can also get just the turbo from A-Spec and I'm pretty sure they can match the or beat the other prices you're getting. Drop them an email and find out. info@a-spectuning.com
