PFC/Greddy Profec B and Single turbo?
PFC/Greddy Profec B and Single turbo?
Hopefully next week I'll have my XS T04S turbo kit.
I am running the PFC right now. What Im asking is how do I hook it up for a single turbo set up? (I know if I want over 17.5psi I have to get the Boost control kit, right?)
Do I need a Greddy Profec B? or can I control boost with the commander just like the seqentials. Which is better(easier and more reliable)?
Let me know your input.....
thanks

I called XS and asked them, they said the PFC can control the boost just fine. If you need more than 17psi then you get a 3 bar GM MAP sensor and a profec b and then XS can change the maps to work with the new sensor.

Well according to some sources you can't get the boost control kit anymore. Isn't there someone on the east coast with PowerExel software to directly modify the PFC? XS said that they could remap it to use a 3 bar MAP sensor instead of the stock one, you can't just swap them you need the PFC to understand the new signal range.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and pitch the POS Power Fc and get either the Haltech E6K or the new AEM. I blew two motors w/ my single turbo because of the POS Power FC. It works great if your living next door to XS or SR Motorsports, but if your on the East Coast, forget it. I know of atleast 10 people without exageration that have blown their engines (single turbo) Rx7's .
As far as the Profec B, it wil do you fine.

As long as you stay 1500cc and under on your injectors, you'll be fine with the PFC. As far as boosting over 17psi, why would you want to do that. You can get over 450rwhp @ 17psi. Besides, reliability is out the door after 17psi anyway. ErnieT is right, in the sense that, if you're going to go with a big single turbo (T78,T88,KKK) you'll need the 1600cc inj kit to compensate for the CFM increase. Then you'll need the Haltech whether or not you run over 17psi. (the pfc cannot control the 1600cc kit correctly) Detonation is what you want to stay away from. Carl...
Anyway, 850 prim & 1300 second w/ the TO4S will be fine at 12-17psi for some real *** kicking.

I know a place that has one boost controller kit left for the Power FC.

Anthony...now what is this I'm reading, your getting a single turbo kit for your FD. It looks like we have to do some racing soon.
