My car is over heating on the track. After 2 or 3 laps its on 110c water temp.

I have no oil temp gauge but my oil coolers are large 17 row on each side.
I have Greaddy FMIC, Koyo alloy rad behinde that and the scoot bonnet.

I was wondering if perhaps the vent in the front is causing terbulant air flow and stopping the rads hot air from coming out. Does anyone els have this issue?

Normal street driving is good at 81 - 85 deg C.

In the pic it does not show my rad cover for the top so that is not the broblem if you think the air is coming out there as I do have a cover for it.

 

I'm am not sure if this will help but a while back i shimmed my hood on my FC. the idea was that air would flow thru the radiator and leave out the back of the hood. well after i did this mod, my car would over heat at high speed/high boost. as it turns out the shimmed hood acted like a cowl induction and created a high pressure area in the engine bay which restricted the air trying to flow thru the rad.

i don't have any scientific data to support this. other then it sounds like a good theory and after i took out the shims my cooling temps were in check

Thanks. My hood is still stock position. I did think about raising the rear end but now I wont. Cheers for the info.

So far I have blocked the front hole and Im just waiting for a test session on the way home tonight. I think the front vent is creating a high pressure area over the rear of the rad and not allowing the air to come through. So I hope I am right and this will fix my temp problem. If it does I will fabricate a ram air to the turbo so that it by passes my rads exit space.
