oil in my gotham racing turbo question

hello all, i have a quick question...

just put my car all together with a gotham racing gr63 kit... after running it for a couple of runs over a few days i inspected everything...is it normal to have a little oil around the opening to the turbo fins? it's not dripping or anything , its like it get a little mist almost where the fins spray it around .... it's visable but not a lot.... but it wasn't there before i put it on... i have pics i can put up if needed....

thanks!

I've got their Gr67 kit, and havent experienced anything like that. I would call up tomorrow and talk to Steve, or maybe Brock. Good luck.

What weight oil are you using? What is your oil pressure at WOT? I gather the turbo is new, I think(this is just my opinion) it takes a couple of use cycles to properly coke the carbon seals so they do not allow any oil to pass. If you have ~80+psi oil pressure, and are using say 20w50, thatis really the upper limit according to Garrett of the seals. Ask Gotham for a solution, so you do not compromise your warranty. Carl

well i think i figured it out.... wrong oil weight... i had 10-30 in there.... too thin. i now have 20-50.... i will take it out for a few runs when its back together again... i'm doing new intercooler piping now so it's gonna have to wait... the turbo isn't new.... it's kryo-2's old kit...

Actually, nothing wrong with 10w30. I run 5w30 Mobile 1, helps find leaks fast
