NPR intercooer bar and plate???

Ok this is labeled as an npr IC but as fare as I know the npr’s are not bar and plate and this looks like it is bar and plate. I am just a little skeptical because I can get this for 200 shipped and well the old style NPR that has the tube design is ~250$ on eBay so how can this be cheaper. The dimensions are about 30-32in long 2 in thick and about as tall as the stock radiator in a t2. And the inlets and outlets are 2.5 and 2.8in. Anyway this looks like a steel for 200 shipped if it really is an npr and bar and plate. If you guys could give me any more info that would be great.

Thanks

That looks too small (restrictive) for use on a 13B. What are the core dimensions?

It does look like it is bar and plate, but it is hard to be sure from the pic.

some pics of it installed on someone elses car. I think this would be way to big for me as i will be boosting 12-14psi on the stock turbo 88 t2. What do you guys think?

I don't think that it is actually installed, it is just placed in there, as you'll notice the stock IC is still attached.

The IC in the car is not the same one that is pictured in the first post. The end tanks are different, and the core looks different, too.

you might be right although it looks the same to me. Eather way they are about the same. I think I might have to go with something smaller as this would lead to a little lag on the stock turbo and its not worth the hassle to cut away part of the car.

If anyone knows of a good IC thats about 8in tall and 3in thick and flows well let me know. I really want one from an international truck but cant seem to find them anywhere

The visible difference is that the hose connections are in the middle of the end tanks in the picture of the IC and cleaner spray bottle. The hose connections are not centered on the end tanks for the IC in the in-car pics. Also, the overall shape of the core is more square on the IC that is installed in the car.

There are some other eBay IC cores that might meet your dimensional requirements.
