NGK AFK Powerdex WB02

I'm having trouble finding support on the net, and the place I bought it from is giving me the runaround....

Figured I'd toss it out there. Anyone who's using this unit......how do I get it run in regular mode?

Everytime I power it up it counts down from 20, then goes into calibrate mode and stays there. I can disconnect it, apply power again, and it does the same ****.

Is this normal?

(BTW, figured this is the best section...not entirely appropriate but whatever)

EDIT: Tried editing the title, but I'm sure you know the unit i mean......

The 20 second count down I believe is normal warmup period for the sensor. You need to calibrate it so it does not come up with calibration +/-. Then once it sees a running engines afr it should start to read.

On another note this is one of the slowest and troublesome WBO2's I have used You should really look into an LC-1 and if your looking for a display go to www.moates.net They have a really nice datalogging display for cheap or packaged with the LC-1.

Thanks for the suggestion......when it goes into cal mode it IS calibrated because it says CAL.....if you turn the **** one way it'll read air_ or air- but it always goes to CAL which means its calibrated. It just never displays an actual reading.

I'm running an NTK sensor on it so I shouldn't have trouble with speed.

It may just be the fact that its not in the car yet. I had read the manual and it said about leaving the sensor in free air for 45 minutes before calibrating so I figured it'd be good to do before I installed it........but I could never get it to just show a reading, it would just turn on and go into cal mode.

This is like the 4th different wideband I've owned, not going to buy another just yet thanks lol

It needs to sense a fuel mixture rather than free air to read.

I think thats normal, that happened with my aem wb when i was checking before in car.

Then once it was in car, it actually read afrs when car was on.

So dont panic just yet. Install then panic if something is wrong .

Yes, once you start the car and it gets exhaust washing over the sensor it will start reading.

note that the LC-1 does not support the NTK sensor. Only the LM-1 (and new LM-2 which is about to come out) supports the NTK.
