new to turbo setup
OK I have a guy to make me a turbo manifold for a 13b and even a 12a.
what is a good turbo to use on either motor t03 ot to4.
this engine will be a blow threw/carb type so I dont need a puter.
I know its been said alot on the subject but what do I need for this project.
p.s. the car is going to be heavy street racing/track and very little use around town .and its a 80 1st gen
thanks

SO like I said what do I need ?
and what might it cost me "ball park"
sorry for such a vague reply but a turbo sounds like a nice sleeper car

I would not use anything smaller than a T4 with a 1.0-1.15 a/r exhaust housing. The compressor side is your choice....the bigger the better. If you are having a manifold built I would use a divided tang exhaust housing and keep the ports seperate all the way into the turbo....some people go even larger on the a/r.

Yes, what Bad2ndGen said... dont' go any smaller than a T4, and the bigger the better for compressor size (to a certain extent). I would suggest the 1.15 a/r exhaust housing because it seems you want to make some really good power.
If you can afford to buy a popular large unit like a T51 Kai/SPL, TV45, T78, T66, GT35/40, T04R, etc, then you can make 400-500 rwhp @ 12-24 psi. with a streetported engine.
If you have the ability (aka the *****!) then bridgeport the engine and run the same setup as I mentioned above and get 500-700 rwhp
It's all going to come down to how much money you can afford to spend on it, how streetable you need the car to be, and how reliable / long lasting the engine needs to be. You are going to lose any streetable qualities such as fuel mileage or good low-end torque and "traffic jam" driveability. The streetported engine should last about 75k and the bridgeported about 50k miles.
Your options are pretty much wide open. There are dozens of possible setups out there which would work really well for your application.
Here is a question I want to ask which would prabably tell me a lot of information about what you want your car to be like: How fast of 1/4 mile do you want to be able to run?

what kind of carb will you be running?? i ask because if the carb wont flow what the turbo is making(cfm) then it wont matter how big the turbo is ...what kind of porting do you have? venturi size??
