Exclamation New Single Turbo Owner Needs HELP!!!!

Hello all those whom I can now call fellow single turbo owners! I just got a T62-1 installed in my ported motor '94 PEP. It's fast as hell, but only dynoed at 350HP and 290lb/ft of torque. Here are some other relevant facts: 1. Minimum boost is at .96 BAR because of a 1.0 bar wastegate spring 2. The air:fuel ratio is currently at a very conservative 10:1 !!!!

Now, would it be a better idea to raise the boost, or to lean out the air-fuel. I have a fuel system on par with this kind of air flow, so that shouldn't be a problem. See my sig for details.

Thank you in advance for any and all ideas and advice!!

10:1 is quite rich..shoot for 12:1 slowly and raise the boost a little

life begins after 1 bar/14 psi!!!!!!

Thanks, man! I was so glad to see your name when I checked my email for updates.

Additionally: Do you think it's possible for me to run 18psi or so, and at what A/F ratio?

Again, many thanks to any and all who contribute!

well by slowly turning up your boost on a wide band or a UEGO you should be able to get 18 psi out of your 1300 secondaries safely around 12:1..you could always bump up rail pressure to help out to, if you got good pump..how much timing do you run?

Ya know, I didn't tune it myself, so I'll have to get back to you on the timing. Thanks for the help, though!

Dood, I watched your car get dynoed - wicked! I'm glad I've got silencers on my N1 Dual, damn your car is LOUD!

I took a few pics - want me to post them to the Forum? Your car is so clean and wicked, damn!

Damn you Andy, I want my wheels back, waaaaaaaaaaaa!

Chaotica, your car was not at 10.1 a/f it was 10.8 at the richest and 11.3 ish most of the time on the dyno but when you drive it on the street it stays at about 11.7-11.9 ish which is where i want it! i leaned it out on the second pull and it lost about 5 h.p.
now that you have driven the car, you will notice that it acts exactly the opposite of what the dyno says! inertia dynos SUCK for anything that is not n/a. when that 3k lb wheel gets going it loses its load and we all know that turbos work off of load.

Makes sense. Try reving the engine in neutral, and watch the boost gauge.

I had my Autometer A/F modified to read a narrower range, specifically during WOT conditions (rather then the normal cruising conditions).

Andy, want to borrow mine? Its just sitting in my RX7 mod box.

Check out their website: http://gadgetseller.com/gauges/

I so want to post pics of your ride Andy - can I, huh can I?

Marcus, I understand the whole load thing. It's just that I have to find some way to **** my car up... You know THIS!!! But yes, the car does feel much more powerful than previously indicated. I am not a DOUBTER, man! You know THIS as well! Oh, by the way, the goddamn battery terminal is giving no end of Hell. I'm gonna go to Custom Car Stereo this week to see if they can put a new connector on it. It's driving me nuts...

Daniel, yeah man! I don't even have pics of my car yet! Please do post 'em so I can see 'em!:p

You can go to 18psi on pump gas? I would've thought that would be race gas territory.
