New Owner of Single, Couple ?'s

So I bought my car today(well yesterday).

It has an AiResearch To4 60 cold, .80 hotside.
Not sure on the wastegage(will ask previous owner)
Anyhow this sucker has really no control of boost, I have a Greddy Type S boost contoller hooked up to it, but I have no clue how to set it up properly.
It was tuned very rich(kind of a base tune) and will spool to 15psi easily(as soon as that happened I shut down). He said it was tuned for more than enough fuel for 10psi so that made me feel a little better on that spike aspect.

Couple of questions since I am such a "n00b".
From what observed the wastegate doesnt really open until just past 10psi.
God, I just realized how I am giving all this information without any real direction.

So this is what I want to know:
I want to get it tuned for 15psi, do I need to mess with my boost controller to get it to say limit it at 10psi before I get it tuned, or is that regulated by the wastegate? ( I am clueless yes).
I don't want to ask anymore questions yet as to not a: **** anyone off for being so remedial and b: further make myself look so stupid haha.

Supporting mods are in sig if that helps.
If you need any other info I will be happy to help you help me.

Thanks in advance guys,

Mitch

I think I've seen this car before. Was it at Fuego's? Anyways... What psi did he say the wastegate opens at? Did it always "spike" to 15 psi before you installed the boost controller? Does it spike to 15 psi and keeps climbing, or does it hold it there steady? Make sure you have the vacuum lines hooked up right and that the wastegate is actually doing its job right. If you need more technical help I suggest bringing it by the shop to make sure nothing is hooked up wrong.

One and the same car, haha. Chris told me about you FD Rey :-D Chris had the boost controller installed after it was at fuego I believe. He didn't say when the wastegate opens but it seesm to do it right about 11 or 12. I didn't push the car past 15psi for fear of detonation because I am not sure about how good the tune is.

I just purchased the car from him on Friday.

I would probably need to bring it by so you can educate the hell out of me, if you don't mind.
Just let me know when it is convient for you, my schedule is pretty flexible.

Thanks,
Mitch

No problem man. I'll probably be at the shop next Friday to work on my car. You can swing by there. From what I believe.... Gaby tuned that car to boost 15psi no problem. I don't recall what Chris told me why they had to stop tuning, but I believe that map you have is good for that much boost and plenty more. Just to make sure you have enough fuel pressure and we could hook up a wideband and check the a/f. Oh and congrats

Cool thanks, I appreciate it a lot.
Today I took her out for a spin because my friend wanted to get a taste of the car and it seemed to be opening up at 10psi and wasn't spiking past 12. I can't be for certain because I didn't have much road or time to really test it out. I need to jump on 417 and look take a little time with the boost characteristics.
He said they had to stop tuning because of an ignition problem, which is fixed now.
Where is your shop at? You could pm me with more detailed info if you want.
I moved to the area last June and haven't gotten out much because of school.

Turn off the boost controller and see what it boosts then. Do like a third gear pull. I don't have my own shop, I was referring to Fuego's shop. I'm going to be there next Friday.
