If you understand the functionality of the stock seq-system and a single turbo system, you should be able to get started. It also depends on if you are going to remove all emmisions systems or part of them. Chapter 4 of the Mazda manual has all you need to know.

You only need systems to support what you plan to keep. Now is the time to
get busy reading and prove to yourself that you are a true mechanic, or maybe not.

Well it depends on which ECU you go with. With a Power FC you can just rip it all out of there and snip the wiring harness. With something stock, or stock based like a Pettit or M2 etc. there are a few things the ECU needs to run properly. You may want to leave the solenoids in there just to be safe. cewRX7r1 is right too, you need to decide what you want to keep. There are quite a few things you don't need but you may want to keep. Double throttle, ACV valve, EGR, the list goes on. In my opinion its all pretty worthless and I just ripped it all out. Things get so open and simple when you do it that way.
