Need help on emmissions in CA
I have a GREAT FD FOR SALE on this thread. I have an interested buyers CA.
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...d-e85-1104764/
As you can see by my specs car has lots of options.
I need to know if anyone has ideas on how to pass the strict CA emmisions.
I like E-MAILS, I'm at LUV94RX7@AOL.COM
I notice my buddy Steve Kan is tuning in NORCAL this Fall.
He's worked on and tuned many of my FDs.
I sponsored many of his tuning events in MN
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Problem with CA is the visual inspection. They check for your air pump, cat, EGR, functional check engine light, any and all factory smog controls. And they do not like ANY aftermarket parts under the hood. I dont know of any way to get a single turbo car to pass legally.

You are out of state if they want to buy it it's on them to figure out how to get it to pass emissions. In CA if you are transferring ownership of a vehicle it is on the seller to have it pass or unless stated on the bill of sale that it is sold as is and for parts only and then it's on the buyer to have it pass emissions. Hope this helps you out and the person who is interested in the car from CA should already know what they are getting into with the mods the car has. And if they are trying to get you to conform to CA laws they don't know or they are full of ****.
Wait until the car is 25 years old!
Explain to them that the stock twins are not available since the car was last sold in the USA in 1995. The later year cars were Asian only versions.
Hook up a Pontiac air pump to the exhaust. Run about 20% ethanol with 7 plugs.

California doesn't have a rolling 25yr emissions law. It stopped at 1975 for Gasoline Engines and 1998 for Diesel. However, I'm in the process getting it up to 81. Might have already passed, I forget what Matt @ Governor's office ended up doing with the plan.

Only way is with a "hookup", i.e., you pay someone $500 and they smog another car in your place.
My hookup is keeping the hood closed on the tuned car and having it pass sniffer only. Hey, look, the environment it's being harmed any more or less with all these shiny new parts, it passed your stupid test, so why hassle people? Get a good smog guy...or the ASE cert yourself. :P
