Need help choosing an IAT sensor??
Guys, I need help picking out an IAT for my LT10 on my s4 t2 motor. I had one on my old IC piping but it was stolen and now I cannot remember where or what it was from. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
I am running the twm itbs and I do not believe the stock iat sensor will work for me. I had a gm iat (i believe) but the ic pipe was stolen that it was attached to. What can I do? Thanks
It was an mt4 back in the days. I am looking at the fighters garage iat right now. I also wonder if te msd iat will work? The car performed well at 428 rwhp on 15lbs witha simple set up.
the MSD is just a rebadged GM IAT, or an aftermarket imitation. You can tell by the electrical connector. If you have to have the FD OEM resistance specs then you either use an FD sensor or the Triumph sensor (Fighter's Garage) for an exposed element design. Otherwise use a GM IAT if you can set the resistance values in your EMS. The GM sensor is cheap, it uses an NPT thread, and its electrical connector is easily available (Delphi Weatherpak)

Maybe I am wrong about this, hopefully an expert chimes in. But the intake air temp sensor has no bearing on how your vehicle runs unless it is tuned to. In the microtech there is a seperate page for tuning the car to the readings of your IAT sensor.
My Car was tuned with a IAT that was reading way out, but I checked and found that my IAT map was flat 0 across showing that whatever my IAT reads doesn't really matter as far as how my car will run.

^^ exactly it only works if its got values set up in the microtech to adjust depending on iat. i know mine went bad and when i went to check it there was no adjustments for that map so i didn't bother with replacing it.
My guess is that most tuners would not tune according to intake air temperature, unless maybe with water injection. The IAT fail pretty commonly, I have had 3 or 4 IAT sensors and found all of them read way off.

Very good point, sorry I was thinking as towards my car which never leaves the garage unless the weather is nice.
