well i just acquired my 13b re to swap this winter into my fc. but my question is i am in the middle of porting the tb and the intake mani. can i polish my intake mani after i gasket match it or do i need to leave a texture on the lim for fuel/air atomization?


also what turbo manifold do i need to look for? one for a fc or fd?

With a die grinder I use 80 grit sandpaper rolls on the LIM and on the intake port runners in the irons. Don't polish them like you would an exhaust port.

 

Get whatever manifold you need for the car. If you have an FC get one for an FC. Etc...

i am still learning and doing research about whats involved, so far i know there is alot that needs to be done to do it. just some of the minor things such has the turbo mani i was unsure about. i have read a few write ups like the fc3s one

 

Don't use an FD HKS cast manifold and you should be fine. Other FD manifolds should work, ones that place the turbo farther forward. I am using a Feed FD manifold on my s5 T2 engine configuration.
