On my way to single turbo, next mod?
On my way to single turbo, next mod?
I want to slowely work my way up to single turbo status, upgrading everything else first. Here is what is done now:
PowerFC
HKS Downpipe
Random High Flow Cat
GReddy Cat-Back
Pettit Intake
Boost gauge
PFS Intercooler
I blew my engine though and am getting it rebuilt with a street port and stock 2mm seals. I also will be installing a Walbro pump, and replacing the 550cc injectors with 850's. I plan on running 14psi, and getting it tuned by XS after I break it in.
Is this enough for now?
What would my nect step toward single turbo be?
Thanx!

850(4) vs 550,1200
Well I was all set to get my secondaries enlarged but then I read this: http://www.newwave.net/~flanham/wlan...el/850pri.html
Wade points out that 550/1200 = 3500 and 850x4 = 3400 so if you have a way to control them (PowerFC in my case) then the flow is about the same and I already have a spare set of 850's and even if I didn't, I see them on http://www.thepartstrader.com for $100 vs $145 each plus core for RC Engineering bored 1200's.

I get the injectors thing, but I'd think 1200/1600 would be the best way to go depending on your single's size, but since you have one pump, etc. I'd stick with your plans.
As for the next mod there are a ton of options. So my main questions are, how long til you slap on the single? and are you looking for big power single, or full out complete car?
If the single is soon, a clutch and flywheel combo would be nice, and LSD would be helpful. Then you'd get time to get used to the new clutch (I've heard it can be quite the adjustment), and get used to the freer revving flywheel. Otherwise, suspension is something I'm huge on, because once you get all that power, what is the point if you can't turn?
Also some things to consider: Ignition, radiator (cooling should be a priority here), boost controller (dunno if you've got one), ECU reprogram (or something along those lines, and disregard anything that the PFC takes care of since I'm not really into it, I like the Haltech E6K, maybe I should study up anyways), and my favorite: GAUGES, lotsa'em. Need to be able to see what's going on.
Okay in all seriousness, radiator for cooling, or suspension if you need it, I can't stand cars that don't handle like a dream (I know you think your 7 already does, but it can always get better)
Spyder420
01 MR2 Spyder (anyone wanna give me a single-turbo ready FD and maybe 10-14k for it???) <---- SARCASM, unless you want to

Oops I forgot to list some mods I guess :-)
M2 9.5# flywheel and ACT street/strip clutch, the flywheel is going on with the streetport and I have been using the clutch for a few months so I'm used to it now. Suspension wise I have Fikse FM5 17x10 rear and 17x8.5's front with Yoko A032R's, Racing Beat springs, GAB Super shocks.
I drive the car to work so don't want a full on race car but I really don't mind it being barely streetable. I also have Corbeau ForzaII seat with Sabelt 5pt harness and a Autopower chromoly race rollbar.
