my wastegate valve is bent
i don't know how this happened, but i have had a pretty bad exhaust leak for the past couple weeks and i thought it was a manifold gasket or something. I had some time today to take a look at it i felt exhaust coming out of the wastegate at idle...i thought maybe it was a problem with the pressure lines going to the gate so i removed them and check a few things...all is good.
pulled the wastegate off completely and noticed the valve is sitting way off center and there is just a little crack of light shinning through. i spun the valve and tried to see if it would seal anywhere else on the seat, but no luck. how could this have happened? the valve moves freely and doesnt look bent. this is a high quality turbosmart progate wastegate btw

Ya I know..6 year old thread.
I went with a Company Called JGS.
they have wastegates that operate off a Piston like inside rather than a diaphragm.
here is their site: JGS Precision Turbo Wastegates and Bypass Valves
