Yea, I see that now, even still Bosch says you will have better accuracy, and longer life if you make the sensor ~18" from the turbo. If you read the tech articles from Tech Edge, and Bosch/NGK, you will see that we are at the very limit temperature wise for accuracy with these sensors, therfore, since there is ZERO downside to placing it fartherback, I pointed it out. In addition, these sensors work via oxygen diffusion through a wafer, the pressure waves from the exhaust pulses are strong enough to cause a ~.1-.4 richer reading than actual. I watched this proven with an FJO(who says placemebnt should be like what Dave did), and with a Tech Edge V1.5 back to back pulls simply moving the bung down the DP gave the most consistent/accurate (in retrospect) readings. it's not a huge deal, since Dave likes his cars conservatively tuned, but worth mentioning (but not debating ). Nice manifold. Dave told me last night ~1K ballpark for the manifold.
For me Mcaster Carr can provide all those materials for~150.00, then another 100.00 for flanges, and XXX for welding. If you cut it up with a regular miter saw, and an abrasive blade,tape it, test fit, it can be ready for a welder in a weekend, and yes, those prices are for 321/304, whatever. Also, SS expands an awful lot Mild steel is a less $$$ alternative. My .02 None the less, that is an extrodinary manifold, just out of reach for common folk like myself. (sour grapes abound ) Carl

Does anyone have any nice comments on the NICE 13b exhaust manifold flange?! Screw the nice welds!! lol The flange is what makes or breaks the manifold people!!

Custom one off units usually run around $9-1200 That manifold looks very similar to one I have been trying to get finished here for awhile on a FC, (the move to the new shop has just thrown everything off.) It shows he understands what is required for good flow. I think it will work well.

You may be right, they have 316, and 304, and mild steel, in sch 10/40/80, sch 40 is hardly thin wall, and 316 will work nicely, that said a ceramic coated Mild steel mani will last longer. For reference a 316 2" close 90* weld x weld costs 12.27 each, any shop that buys a quantity of SS can buy the metal for one of these manifolds for ~100-150.00 ( I think I've quoted higher previously, depends on where you get your flanges, or if you have them made. I just had my neighbor look at the mani, as has been stated as a one off it's alot of work, as a production piece, you can see how OBX etc can make something for ~200.00 retail, if they would add some att. to detail, and longer runners, it would not change the price more than ~20.00. carl

It did 344 rwhp @ 12 psi on only a few pulls, still with a very rich afr. Then I cracked the rear S4 side housing
It will sit for about a week and a half more before I can work on it. New housing (S5) is on the way and it will be running very soon after that.
